Your membership gives you pre-paid credits you can use to book fenced yards, fields, trails, pools, and more — without any extra fees.
Sniffpass starts at just $20/month for 21 credits, which typically covers 1-2 visits per month. Most visits cost from 10–20 credits per hour depending on the spot, length of stay, number of dogs, and any Extras. Annual plans offer additional savings and deliver all credits up front to use throughout the year.

Q: How do Sniffpass credits work?
A: Credits are how you book Sniffspots.
- Most visits use 10-20 credits depending on the spot, length of stay, etc.
- If a visit is refunded or canceled, your credits are returned to your account.
- If you don’t use all of your credits in the month they’re issued, they’ll remain valid for two more months.
- Annual Sniffpass credits are issued up front and are designed to be used throughout the year. Credits begin to expire after the first 3 months, in equal monthly portions, as long as your Sniffpass remains active.
Q: Do I need to pay for Sniffpass and also pay to book a spot?
A: No. Sniffpass is fully prepaid. Every dollar you pay for your plan is converted into credits, and those credits are what you use to book Sniffspots. There is no separate membership, access, or booking fee.
When you reserve a spot, credits are deducted from your balance instead of charging you again.
Example: If you’re on the $60/month Silver plan, you receive 64 credits. If a visit costs 15 credits, those credits pay for the booking — no additional charge is added.
Q: How do I know which spots offer extra Sniffpass discounts?
A: Look for the green Sniffpass checkmark on the search page.
On the spot page, the pricing section will note whether a Sniffpass discount applies.
You can also use the Sniffpass Discount filter when browsing.
Q: How does the free trial work?
A: If you’re new to Sniffpass, you can start with a 7-day free trial. You’ll get 10 free credits to use within 7 days to try your first spot.
After 7 days, your membership begins automatically at your selected rate (monthly or annual) so your dog never misses an off-leash day.
Cancel before the end of your 7-day free trial and you won’t be charged.
Q: Why was I charged after my free trial?
A: You get 7 full days during your trial to reserve and visit a Sniffspot. For example, if you sign up for a free trial on August 12 at 1pm, your trial will expire on August 19 at 1pm.
If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your Sniffpass is renewed to add new credits to your account and keep your dog sniffing!

Q: When does my Sniffpass renew?
A: Sniffpass bills on the 1st of each month for monthly plans.
If you’re on an annual plan, your plan will renew 12 months from the month you signed up, on the 1st day of the month. For example, if you signed up on August 12, 2025, you will be billed for your renewal on August 1, 2026.
Q: How do I change or cancel my Sniffpass?
A: You’re always in control.
- Open the Sniffspot app or go to www.sniffspot.com.
- Click Subscriptions.
- Go to Account → Subscriptions on mobile.
- Click your profile photo → Subscriptions on web.
- Select Sniffpass to update your plan
If you cancel, your credits remain usable until the end of your current billing period and you won’t be billed for the next period.
Q: What happens when I upgrade to a higher Sniffpass tier?
A: Upgrading gives you more credits instantly. You’ll be charged the difference between your current tier and your new tier.
Q: Do Sniffpass discounts apply to Extras?
A: Yes. When a spot offers a Sniffpass discount, it applies to the entire booking, including Extras.
Q: Can I create multiple accounts to access multiple free trials?
A: No. Creating multiple accounts to receive additional free trials is not permitted.
Q: Can I book without Sniffpass?
A: As of December 18, 2024, new guests will need an active Sniffpass subscription in order to make a reservation. Guests who booked visits prior to the requirement will continue to be able to book without Sniffpass.
One exception: If you’re booking a brand-new Sniffspot with fewer than 5 reviews, you don’t need an active Sniffpass to reserve it. We waive the requirement as a thank-you for being one of the first guests to try the spot and leave a review for the host.
Q: Can I use a discounted or complimentary visit if Sniffpass is required?
A: Yes. You’ll create a Sniffpass first and then apply your discount code to redeem a free booking.
Q: Can I get a refund if I was charged accidentally?
A: We understand mistakes happen. If you were charged after a trial and didn’t mean to continue, contact support within 7 days and we’re happy to help.
Q: Can I use my credits anywhere?
A: Yes! Credits work at any Sniffspot, from local fenced yards to scenic trails several hours away.
Q: What if Sniffspot only works for me in certain seasons?
A: Many people use Sniffspot seasonally, and Sniffpass is designed for flexibility. You’re welcome to cancel and rejoin at any time! That said, dogs do need enrichment year-round, and there are plenty of great seasonal options:
- Heat: pools, splash pads, shaded yards
- Cold: indoor play spaces, heated barns, or spots with warming areas
- Rain/Weather: covered arenas or indoor options
- Lighting: illuminated areas for safety before sunrise and after sunset

Q: What if my dog gets plenty of exercise in our yard, and we only use Sniffspot when traveling?
A:Sniffpass is flexible! You’re welcome to join when you’re on vacation and cancel when you aren’t using it! Remember that exercise is just one benefit. Many owners use Sniffspot to expose their dog to new smells, new environments, and to provide mental stimulation, even if they have a yard at home. Mental stimulation prevents boredom, boosts confidence, reduces anxiety and curbs destructive habits.
Q: What if there aren’t enough Sniffspots near me yet?
A: New spots open every day. We are actively recruiting new hosts to bring more safe, private spaces to your area.
